As I scan through the back page of any of my parents’ favorite Indian restaurants, the name “Mango Lassi” forever tempts me. Especially in the summer months, my hand itches, my voice quivers. But no! I abstain, knowing full well I can make it cheaper (and definitely healthier!) at home. I’d love to share this simple, scrumptious recipe with you!

1 ripe mango, peeled and chopped
OR 1 cup Alphonso mango puree
1 cup yogurt
2 tbsp water, or enough to loosen lassi to your preferred consistency
Pinch of cardamom
(Optional) 1/4 tsp ginger
Blend all ingredients until smooth
Mix-in or blend with extra water if preferred
Serve cool (but not icy)
